Here, you would find my architectural works. I wanted to write my philosophies in this field, but let's keep it for some other time (I need time to conjure my beautiful writing skill, which unfortunately I don't have at this moment). But let me do a bit of introduction so you can roughly see who am I as an architect.
As you would see, I have laid out my projects in a temporal manner – from the most recent, to the oldest. Why? you may ask. Because architecture for me is a journey, a never-ending voyage of exploration. A process of discovering, and rediscovering. A revelation: both to and of one's self. Architecture is not and should not be separated from it's most important subject: human. Of one's feelings and experiences. Of course, there are a lot of things involved in creating an architectural works: we cannot forget of all the project managing, the engineering, the safety designs, etc. It does not mean that we have to forget our subjectivity and substitute it with only cold objectivity, we are all humans after all. I feel that before we can create good architecture, we need to understand better ourselves, of our own strength and weaknesses – on what we do best, and what we do worst – and try to be the best version of ourselves (self management is a must have skill!). Apart from being true to yourself, I think having a purpose in life comes first before assigning a function to a space. Imagine the kind of architecture that soulless people would create, probably they're not going to be the best. Anyway, I made it this way so that you can create the mental image of my upbringing as an architect: how interests grew, how skills improved, how knowledge expands, how philosophies drifted – how I change. They are diary entries to my life as an architect.
Second question: what do I do best? To be honest, at this point in my life, I am still unsure about what's next. Based from my past self, I know I am pretty interested and skilled in architectural software: I've been the 'tech guy' in most cases. I can also testify that I am well versed in technical details (I think this point still correlates to the one before). Well, now I am fully immersed in studying the relationship between the present and the past, and how it is translated in architecture. One thing that I can say for sure is, I am best at asking questions to things I don't understand. I am curious of everything. I lay my hands of every tools that I can thinker as much as I can. I break down stuff in order to understand how it works (fun fact: I did this site in a day just because I want to know how to make a website, without prior knowledge on the topic, next on the road is learning how to code). Again, I am curious in everything, and I will do everything that I can to satisfy that thirst. So, to go back to the question: I am still on my path to my future self, I am a definition in progress, I am a part of what I will be, and you are here to see the process.
