jaya mandala

Jaya Mandala is a professional built project that I was involved with in my previous office. This twin houses is designed as residences for executives of a certain company in Jakarta, Indonesia.

I followed the design process of the project from the start, which was in 2021, around one year after I joined the company as a junior architect. At first, I was tasked to help the lead architect in doing preliminary designs such as drawing up plans, making renders, and doing presentations. During the design development process, my team leader as the lead architect resigned and his responsibilities were given to me. Though most of the preliminary design process were done when I took over, I was given responsibility by the operational manager to develop it into a detailed design, hence the experience that I had after was mainly managerial. I led meetings with the clients, discussed the deisgn with the municipality, and mostly manages our collaborators (drafters, structural engineers, and MEP engineers) in producing the final construction drawings.

Unluckily, I had to leave for Italy in 2022 just before the construction process had begun, but then a couple of months later my former manager sent me these pictures with a message saying ‘your project got built, congratulations!’
